Saint Michaels: Michaels everywhere; the Small Boat Festival; Leonard Cohen Memorial Concert

I have been checking the weather at various sources and now tropical storm/soon to be hurricane Michael has popped up.  You may recall that Michael is also the name of my friend who had a near fatal motor scooter accident several weeks ago.  Last Thursday that Michael stood unaided for the first time since the accident.  He describes the recovery process as being reborn and again going through the various early stages of life.  Soon he will become a toddler.  I wish him continued progress.  And GANNET and I are presently in Saint Michaels, where because of the storm we are going to remain a while.
Study of the various weather sources shows storm Michael passing not far south of here on Thursday, but there are further permutations and complications.  I doubt we will be away before Saturday and quite possibly not until next Monday, a week from today.

We walked around the Museum grounds yesterday as the Small Boat Festival was winding down.
The Museum exhibits are extensive and fascinating to anyone with interest in boats, history of the Chesapeake,  and how watermen made their livings.
The Small Boat Festival was festive, with people camping out overnight in the woods near the Museum parking lot, many of whom come year after year to meet other small boat building and owning friends.  Many of the boats are beautiful and beautifully made.
Saint Michaels, the Chesapeake Maritime Museum, and the Small Boat Festival, are all worth visiting and participating in.
My talk Saturday night was well attended and I like to believe well received.  At least at the end, they applauded rather than threw tomatoes.

I happened upon a YouTube video of a star studded and effectively staged memorial concert for Leonard Cohen on the first anniversary of his death.  I enjoyed it, though I believe Cohen sang his songs better than most of the stars.

Carol took the photo yesterday while we were having lunch at a local restaurant.  She had a soft shell crab; I a shrimp salad sandwich.  Both good.
