Two nights of good sleep have largely restored me.
I steered GANNET into her slip not long before sunset Friday after two incidents of unwanted excitement in the last quarter mile.
That I was very tired was to be expected after poor sleep some nights during the sail due to my shoulders making it difficult to find a painless sleeping position, some nights of rough weather, and my being awake Friday from 1 AM as we closed this cluttered coast.
I will read over the sail log soon and upload it. I also shot some videos and will watch them to determine if they are worth sharing.
I still have some aches, pains and bruises as well as scabs on the top of my bald skull which I persist in bouncing off the Great Cabin overhead. I really should stop doing that but probably won’t.
Some of the sailing was enjoyable. Some was not. I even felt for a while that I was again in the monastery of the sea which is very good indeed.
Being tired was good. It meant that an old man is still using himself up.

Happy to hear that you found the “monastery”, even for just a bit, because it seems it’s been a long time absent. Looking forward to the log and some video. And we really don’t care how good or bad it might be. Video adds context and flavor to your written descriptions.
Thanks, David. The log will appear soon. Maybe later today or tomorrow. The videos a bit later. I have viewed them and rejected some. I’ll view the others again before uploading.
